Coach Greg Clink believes University of Montana transfer Zach Graves (pictured) will be one of the most athletic guards in the CCAA.
CHICO, Calif. – Chico State men’s basketball coach Greg Clink announced Wednesday that Sacramento native Zach Graves has transferred to Chico State from the University of Montana. Graves, a 6-foot-2 guard from Sacramento’s John F. Kennedy High School, redshirted one season before playing in 10 games as a freshman last year.

“Zach is a great addition to our program. I think he will be one of the
most athletic guards in the CCAA,” said Clink. “The thing about Zach that really excites us is that he really knows how to use that athleticism. He is an aggressive defender and loves to attack the rim offensively.”

Graves, a two-time All-city selection as a prep, earned Metro League MVP honors as a junior after averaging 17.1 points, five assists, and 4.8 rebounds per game. As a senior he averaged 17.5 points per game and shot 63 percent from the floor. He was also a two-year team captain.

In just 47 minutes of action at the University of Montana last season, Graves scored 15 points, dished out three assists, and nabbed a trio of steals.
