WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Andy Bocian, the leading scorer in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) this season and one of the most prolific scorers in Chico State history, was named to the All-CCAA team this week. The 6-foot-6 forward/center averaged 19.6 points per game, scored 20 or more points 12 times, and scored 30 or more three times.
A Second-Team selection this year, Bocian garnered First Team All-CCAA honors as a sophomore in 2005-06. He's just the second Chico State player to earn two All-CCAA honors since the Wildcats joined the conference in the 1988-89 season. Scott Land was named to the first team in 2002-03 and 2004-05 and the second team in 2001-02.
Bocian's 2008-09 campaign ranks among the best in Chico State history. His 19.6 points per game is the fifth highest in Chico State history. Only George Maderos and Land ever averaged more. His 528 points are also the fifth most.
He also hangs up his sneakers among Chico State's career top 10 in a number of categories. His 1,439 career points are the fifth most in Chico State history. His career scoring average of 17.8 points is the third highest in Chico State history. His 102 career 3-pointers are the eighth most in Chico State history. His 289 career free throws are the fourth most in school history. And his career free throw percentage of .816 is the third highest in Chico State history.
