Wildcats in fourth following Sears' sizzling 72
Erin Sears leads the Division II half of the Lady Otter Spring Invitational heading into Tuesday's final round.

SEASIDE – Erin Sears’ sizzling first round, a 1-under par 72, has the Chico State women’s golf team in a tie for fourth place out of 14 teams following the first round of the Lady Otter Spring Invitational, hosted by Cal State Monterey Bay at the Black Horse Golf Club. Sears leads the tournament by a stroke.
The Wildcats, who fired 24-over 316 as a team, trail tournament leader Cal State Monterey Bay by 14 strokes. However, they are only five strokes out of second place. Sears is tied for fourth, three strokes out of the lead. Megan Chang (7-over par 80) is tied for 22nd. Shelby Hooper (8-over par 81) is tied for 28th. Alexandra Bush (10-over par 83) is tied for 36th. And Whitney Vau (18-over par 91) is in 54th.
The Tournament concludes with 18 more holes on Tuesday.
