INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Chico State baseball team was named to its 12th NCAA Championship Tournament field in the last 15 years Sunday night. The Wildcats, who finished the regular season 35-18, earned the West Region’s No. 3 seed and will face tournament host and 2nd-seeded Cal State Dominguez Hills in an opening round game Thursday night at 6 o’clock at the MLB Urban Youth Academy in Compton.
Top-seeded UC San Diego will face No. 4 seed Hawaii Pacific at 2 p.m. Thursday to kick off the festivities. CLICK HERE TO VISIT TOURNAMENT CENTRAL. The winner of the West Regional will advance to the NCAA Division II College World Series in Cary, N.C., May 22-29.
The winners of Thursday’s games will play Friday at 6 p.m. Thursday’s losers will play an elimination game Friday at 2 p.m.
