The Chico State women’s golf team is hoping to parlay trips to Washington, Texas, and Arizona (twice) during the 2010-11 season into a Michigan expedition for the NCAA Championships. The Wildcats qualified for their first ever National Championships in 2008-09 and Head Coach Kathy Dais is hoping that an influx of young talent can get her team back to that level.
The Wildcats will play four tournaments in the fall and then five more in the spring, including the InterWest Chico State Invitational March 21-22.
They open the fall section of their schedule at the Sonoma State Invitational Sept. 19-21 and then take a jaunt to Arizona for the Grand Canyon Invitational Sept. 27-28. They’ll trade in their flip-flops for warm tops when they head north to Bellingham, Wash., for the Viking Invitational Oct. 11-12 and then wrap up the fall at the Golf Mart/Lady Otter Invitational at Black Horse Golf Club in Seaside.
