GA tickets for ESPN3 hoops doubleheader on sale now

Tickets may be sold out before next Friday night

General admission tickets for the Feb. 19 ESPN3 basketball doubleheader featuring Chico State and Cal Poly Pomona at Acker Gym are now available through the University Box Office at (530) 898-6333 and on the corner of 3rd and Chestnut.
 
The women's game will tip at 5:30 with the men's game to follow approximately 30 minutes after the women's matchup.
 
There are a limited number of tickets available, and once they are sold, no additional tickets will be available. It is likely that no tickets will remain for purchase on the day of the game. General admission tickets prices are: $7 for adults; $4 for seniors (age 60 and over), Chico State students, and visiting students; and $2 for high school age and under.
 
CHICO STATE STUDENT TICKETS
Student tickets will be available starting Monday, February 15 at the University Box Office on the corner of 3rd and Chestnut. The University Box Office will open at 10 a.m. that day, and students must present a valid student ID to obtain a ticket. Only one ticket per valid student ID will be provided. A maximum of 500 student tickets will be available for the games that night.
 
Once those are gone, if general admission tickets are still available, students may purchase those for $4.
 
THE MATCHUPS
The Chico State and Cal Poly Pomona women are both angling for California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Championship Tournament berths. The Chico State women's basketball team has advanced to the NCAA Championship Tournament 10 times in the past 13 seasons and advanced to the Sweet 16 or beyond five times. Cal Poly Pomona has won five NCAA Division II titles and two West Region titles in the past five years.
 
The Cal Poly Pomona and Chico State men are both currently ranked in the nation's top 25. Chico State is 18-3 and ranked No. 9 in the nation. Cal Poly Pomona is 18-4 and ranked No. 14. Both teams are in the thick of the CCAA Championship race. The Wildcats are currently in second place, percentage points behind UC San Diego, and Cal Poly Pomona in third.
 
The teams have combined to win five of the last seven CCAA titles. Cal Poly Pomona won in 2009, 2010 and 2013, and Chico State in 2012 and 2015.
 
The Wildcats have advanced to the NCAA Championship Tournament in each of the past four seasons and won their first West Regional title just two seasons ago under Head Coach Greg Clink. The Cal Poly Pomona men's basketball team captured the NCAA Division II title in 2010 and has won the West Region title four times during Greg Kamansky's 15-year tenure.
